Final Thoughts And Bibliography:

This series is the result of a year's worth of study and prayerful consideration of a question about the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. In studying and preparing these lessons, I have learned much and been strengthened in my own personal walk with God. I have also found in teaching these lessons that these truths have application beyond simply learning what happens when a christian sins. These truths have helped me to understand "difficult" texts of the Bible and to be able to better refute the false teachings of individual predestination, "easy-believism salvation," doctrines of eternal security, and that operation of the Gifts of the Spirit are a sign of being right with God. I hope you enjoy these writings as much as I enjoyed compiling them.

In writing and compiling these lessons, I leaned heavily upon the ideas and teachings presented in a booklet by Kelsey Griffin entitled "Backsliding and Renewal." This booklet is highly recommended and is available in most Apostolic bookstores. Most of the ideas and scriptures in this study are from this book although I have chosen to not cover some other subjects that he addresses. I desired to place and arrange this excellent information in a Bible study format that could be taught easier to a small group. This series is the accomplishment of that goal.

I also used several other sources while compiling these lessons:

A Handbook of Basic Doctrines by David K. Bernard

Difficulties in the Bible by R.A. Torrey

Hebrews: Better Things Volumes I & II by Daniel Seagraves

Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary by Thomas Nelson Publishers

Number in Scripture by E.W. Bullinger

Strong's Greek and Hebrew Dictionary

The Adam Clarke Commentary by Adam Clarke

The Dispensation Bible Study by Jeremiah Sibley

The Message of Romans by David Bernard

The New Unger's Bible Dictionary by Moody Press

Vine's Expository Dictionary

I used my notes from a class on Hebrews taught to me in Jackson College of Ministry by D. Tipton. I also picked the well-educated brains of my dad, Rev. Bob Sibley; my father-in-law, Rev. Larry E. Webb; and my brother, Rev. Paul Sibley. I am always indebted to my wife and the Rev. James Jackson who always play "devil's advocate" with me and listen to my rambling about vague Bible passages!
