The Bible records very plainly that God created the heaven and the earth. It also plainly states that He took only 7 days to do so. The theory of Evolution has been taught so plainly as truth in our schools that many Christians have accepted the lie and, not realizing what they are doing, accepted Evolution as the method of Creation. Some Christians have tried to explain and combine the Word of God and the lies of Evolution and combine them into something called "Creationistic Evolution." They say that God used Evolution to create the Earth and the days of Creation were really representative of thousand of years.

But one cannot accept both Creation and Evolution. They contradict one another totally. It is not possible for God to have used Evolution to create the heavens and the earth. Here is 4 reasons why God could not have used Evolution to create the earth:

1. Evolution assumes that matter and gases already existed at the time of the creation of the universe. Who created the matter and the gases? Only God can create something out of nothing.

2. Evolution teaches that the progress of life resulted from the environment and heat and light resulting from the Sun and Stars. Yet God created Light and Day and Night on the first day, and did not create the Sun, moon, and the stars until the Fourth day. Yet He created grass and fruit trees on the third day. If each of these days were thousands of years, then how did the grass and trees (which require sunlight for nourishment) stay alive for thousand of years before the Sun was created?

3. The first day, God divided the light from darkness and created Day and Night. Divided means that He divided them equally. If each day were a thousand years or greater, then each day would have consisted of 500 years of light, and 500 years of darkness. How would the vegetation and for that matter animals survive in 500 years of darkness?

4. Adam was 930 years old when He died. The oldest man recorded living was Methuselah who died in the Flood at the age of 969 years. Adam was created on the Sixth day, and yet took a Seventh day to rest. If each day were thousands of years, then Adam was thousands of years old before the end of the Seventh day, yet the Bible says that he died much sooner than that!

You cannot believe in Evolution and the Word of God! The problem has arisen out because none of us were there! Whose word are you going to believe about the Creation of the World, a human being that was not alive at the time of Creation, or the Words of the only One who was present when the world began? I'll choose God's Word!

Evolution cannot explain where the matter for the Big Bang came from in the first place. Evolution cannot explain how that God created the birds in the air and the fish in the sea before He ever created a land creature. Evolution cannot find that "missing link" that would prove that Man evolved from Apes. Evolution cannot explain the miracle of birth and how that a baby can go from developing in a water sac to breathing fresh air in minutes. Evolution cannot explain why the Monarch Butterflies fly from Mexico to Canada every year and end up within a thirty mile radius each year. Yet no butterfly lives long enough to make the entire trip. And it is actually the butterflies grandchildren that make it to Canada. And their grandchildren that return to Mexico each migration. Who tells the grandchildren of the butterfly where His home in Mexico is? And how can He find His way back to the exact spot of His Great, great, great, great grandfather? Evolution can explain that, but I can tell you who is guiding the butterfly, and I can tell you who reminds the Homing pigeon where home is. He is the God of Glory, the Creator of the World, and He's worthy to be praised!

The Song says that "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He's watching me!" You can try to explain away God and His Word. You can try to make the Scriptures fit some theory, but I'll take the word of the One who was there when it all began!

I do not have time for a refutation of every Evolutionistic doctrine, but I will tell you that Evolution contradicts the study of mountains (orogeny), it contradicts the geographical distribution of animals, it contradicts comparative anatomy, taxonomy (the organization of species into separate kinds), the law of biogenesis (life can only come from other life) , the law of kinds (like produces like, example a "dat" doesn't exist), it contradicts the first (nothing is now being created) and second (systems left to themselves go into disarray, example hurricane hitting a lumber yard) laws of thermodynamics, it contradicts the current population statistics, teleogy (study of design and purpose example turtle on a pole), geology, and tries to get you to believe in "a geologic column" instead of the flood!

God asked Job a question that needs to be addressed by the scientists of our day:

Evolution tells you that to believe in God's Word is foolishness and that we should believe that a small, single-cell life form happened by chance. Professors of Probability have taken the complexity of the simplest life form that we have discovered and have calculated that the chance of it just forming on it's own is 1 X 10 to the 40,000th power. That is less probability than:

1. Shaking for 1 billion years a gigantic box filled with wire, metal, plastic, etc... and forming a computer.

2. A tornado passing through a junkyard and forming a Boeing 747.

3. 10 to the fiftieth power blind men simultaneously solving scrambles Rubik's cubes.

4. An explosion in a print shop creating an unabridged English dictionary.

An you expect me to trust in that theory of how that life formed? And you call my trust in God's word crazy?

The point of all of this is that God did create the heavens and the earth simply by speaking it into existent in only seven literal days. Since He was able to do so, ask yourself why did God even take seven days to do it? Why did God simply not create the world in one day with a simple commandment? He could have; He is God! Why did He take a seventh day to rest? God doesn't get tired!

The answer lies in the scriptures that we read for our text. The Creation declares God's glory to us. The creation of the earth reveals the master plan for those upon the earth. Let's go through the days of Creation and see why God chose to create certain things on certain days:

God created the heaven and the earth, but it was without form and void with darkness all around. Then the Spirit of God moved upon the waters, and God caused light to shine in the darkness and He divided the light from the darkness and placed a balance in place.

This represents Repentance. Before you found a place of Repentance before God, your life was without form and was void of purpose. Darkness reigned supreme in your light. But somewhere you heard the Word of the Lord speak to you, and the Light of His truth shone into the darkness giving you direction. The very Spirit of the God of Glory moved upon the waters of the Spirit of your soul, and a balance and a purpose begin to form in your life! For the first time the story of Jesus (the light of the World) became relevant to you, and you realized that you must allow His glorious Word to form you if you were to be anything!

On the Second Day God divided the waters from dry land and through the moving of water, caused the earth to be able to sustain life. He prepared the earth for the coming of new life by the literal dividing and cleansing of the water.

This, of course, represents Water Baptism. Through Water Baptism the blood of Jesus is applied to your life and God prepares your life for a new life and a regeneration of your Spirit. He washes away the void and darkness caused by Sin in your life and prepares you for day 3! Water Baptism is not optional for Salvation. Jesus commanded it. It is a necessary step in God' plan from the beginning!

It was not until Day 3 that new life appeared upon the earth! God brought forth the first signs of new life and fruit trees!

This represents the infilling of the Holy Spirit. When you receive the Holy Ghost, God brings new Spiritual life back into your life. That spirit that had been dormant and idle because of Adam's sin, becomes back to life and upon the barren soul returns joy! It really is Joy unspeakable and full of Glory! Receiving the Holy Spirit is not an added gift or optional for Salvation. Jesus commanded it, the entire early church received it, and You can have it!

Some people stop at Day 3 when God begins to create something new in their lives. But God did not stop there, He continued on with His Creation:

On Day 4 God created the stars, and the Sun, and the Moon. The Bible says that He placed the Stars and Moon to rule the night and the Sun to rule the day! They were to rule over the day and the night, and to divide light from the darkness.

The Sun represents Jesus Christ who is the Light of the World. When we get to New Jerusalem, the Bible teaches us that there will be no need of the sun:

The Moon represents the local church. The Moon has no light of it's own but simply reflects the light from the Sun. Our church has no light on it's own, but it our job to reflect the light and the Word of the Son!

In Revelation chapter 1, John saw a vision of Jesus Christ coming to give him the Revelation for seven churches. In the vision, Jesus Christ has seven stars. Now John did not die on the Island of Patmos but became the bishop of these seven churches of Asia and helped them and their individual pastors grow until He died of natural causes. One interesting note about John is that He did this after the Book of Revelation written in A.D. 100 around 71 years after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. John could not have been older than the age of 18 at the time of the Crucifixion. That's why when Jesus was hanging on the Cross, He turned and told John to take care of His mother. Back to the point. God Almighty wanted to use John to speak to these seven churches. In Revelation 1:20, God explains the mystery of what the stars represent to John.

The Seven stars are the "angels" of the seven churches. I looked up the original Greek word for angels in this verse and it is not just a word used for angelic beings. It is "aggelos" which means "messenger" and also can mean "pastor." Here it represents the pastors of the seven churches. The point is that God used "stars" to represent "pastors." You've got to remember that the stars were much more important in Biblical times than they are to the average person today. In those days, the stars where how they got direction on their journeys. If they were out on the ocean, with no land in sight, they could look to the stars and know where they were. God gives pastors for the same reason today. It is easy to get tossed around by the waves and storms of life and to lose your direction, and that's why God gave you a pastor that you can look to and get your bearings and give you direction. Unfortunately, today pastors don't mean as much as they once did. But you can't make it without a pastor in your life, and you better think God for a Pastor that may not tell you what you want to hear but will tell you the truth and point you in the right direction!

It was on Day 4 of the Creation that God created the Sun, and the Moon, and the Stars to rule and to divide the darkness and the light. After a person has Repented of their sins, has been baptized in the name of Jesus, and is filled with the Holy Ghost, then they must submit to the authority that God has placed within their life. You cannot serve God and not submit to the local church authority; You cannot serve God and not submit to your Pastor and His teaching. Because when you do not submit to the God-given authority God stops the process of creation in your life!

On Day 5 God created the fish in the sea and the birds of the air. He commanded the sea to bring forth life "abundantly." There are more kinds of sea creatures than all of the other species combined. Noah only had to take 17,500 species on board the Ark, because the rest of the species lived in the water.

The key word in two verses is "abundantly" and the key word in the other verse is fruitful and multiply! When you submit to authority in your life, it always brings a blessing. God wants to bless you "abundantly" and for you to be both spiritually and physically "fruitful" in all that you do. If you do not feel that your life is very blessed, then you better check to make sure that you are living your life in submission to the man of God in your life. Are you a person that jumps from church to church, you'll never grow because a seed must stay in one place to do so. Find you a church with a Pastor that teaches the whole council of God's Word, Plant yourself, submit yourself to Him and His leadership, and see if God doesn't bless you "abundantly." You see when you submit yourself to the authority of a local church assembly and the pastor, you do so by giving of yourself to the church assembly and to support of the ministry of the pastor. It means that you structure your life around church. When the doors of the church are open for service, you are always there. When something is going on, you participate with a good attitude and eagerness. You are faithful to prayer and caring for others. When you submit yourselves to a Pastor, then you obey what he teaches from God's Word. If you do not understand then you press forward in study until you understand. If it is something that requires a change in your lifestyle, then you pray and submit your will to God's will and obey! Submission means you contribute and give of your time, presence, and finances to the church. Jesus said by what measure you give, then that same measure will in turn be used to return your blessings. It is the plan of God to bless you both financially and spiritually, but He cannot bless you until you submit to the Son, the church, and the pastor. Try and see. See if He will not bless you abundantly. See if He will not repay you "pressed down, shaken together, and running over!"

On the Sixth Day God created the beasts of the field such as cows and oxen. But then He created His prized creation. The creature that was different from all of the others. God created humanity. The Bible teaches that Man was created in the image of God. God created Him exactly after His chosen image! Man was the only creature to have this awesome privilege to be created in the image of the Creator!

Some of you need to realize that you are created in the image of God. You do not have to improve upon your looks to be beautiful. It is a lie from the pits of Hell, ladies, that you have to be anorexic, blond, painted, immodest, and flirtatious like the latest copy of Vogue magazine to be beautiful! It is also a slap in God's face, because He created you in His image, and He created you exactly how He wanted you to look. Why would you want to alter your appearance? Do you think that God did not do a good enough job? Godly beauty comes from within. Notice how Peter taught on the subject:

You beauty shouldn't come from the wearing of certain kinds of clothes, having the latest hairstyle, or the wearing of jewelry! But it should be the inner beauty of God creating something beautiful in your life. If you want to wear an ornament of some type, Peter said let it be the ornament of a meek and quiet, submissive spirit. Peter also tells us that in the sight of God this is of great price! A Woman that will be beautiful by allowing the image of God to shine through is what is valuable to God! Women your clothing style or accessories should not be dictated by this world, but that is exactly what most of you have done. Every ad you see, every magazine and movie and book that you see, tells you that you're ugly unless you live up to the air-brushed, surgery enhanced models of the world! But God is wanting someone to realize that you were created in the image of God, and God wants you to be you not somebody else! You can be free from the bondage of trying to be perfect, because God has already created you exactly like He wanted you to look.

Men, we should not place pressure upon the women in our life to conform to what this world calls beautiful. Do not allow the images of what the world calls beautiful to become what is attractive to you! Some of our women dress and conduct themselves in the way that they do because of pressure from us! Pornography is destroying America's families. Pornography is not acceptable sin. It is not harmless. It destroys the very foundation of your relationship. No woman can compete with the air-brushed, photo enhanced models of Pornography. Not even the model herself looks like that in real life. Studies have shown that the majority of models and strip dancers are women that have been either molested, raped, or physically abused by men as children. If you think that your Pornography habit is harmless I want you to remember the next time that you view a scantily clad woman in a photo layout that she is the way that she is because of the horrible and sinful things that were done to her. When you realize the image that you are lusting over is the shell of a battered and abused little girl that has been forced into her lifestyle, it takes the thrill away doesn't it?

A beautiful wife is one that is faithful to you, who loves you, who puts up with your drawbacks, who prays for you, who submits herself to God and His word, and whose beauty comes from her submission to God's plan not from the styles of sin. If you have such a woman and she has committed herself to you, and pledged to give her life to your family and to your children, then you better love her and take care of her, and do not make her feel inadequate because she doesn't live up to some sinful ideal of what the world calls beautiful! She is made in the image of God, and you better treat her as such. Verbal abuse, and angry words do sometimes as much damage to her psyche as a physical punch. God has given you a good thing, you better respect her and love her, the Bible says "as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it." So what if you must spend time with her, love her, work at your relationship. So what if you must sacrifice your own goals and dreams so that some of hers come to pass, so what if she needs a new dress now and then and flowers and a card just because. So what if she needs encouragement and love rather than rebuke and harsh words. And so what if she needs respect and self-worth and it costs you a little of your ego to give her that. Is that too much to ask? Jesus died for the church, and you are still living! Husbands love your wives!

On the Seventh day God rested. Not because He needed rest, but because He wanted to be an example to us and through His creation to speak to us about the plan of God for our lives.

In Six days God had used His Word and His Spirit to shape the earth into the beautiful creation of His plan. You can never enter into the rest and the joy of serving the Lord until you have allowed the Spirit and the Word of God to create in you this same process. God is calling to everyone today. There is a purpose to your life, and God has revealed it. I revealed to you God's master plan for His creation. He could have spoken the worlds into existent in one second, but He created and formed it to show you that He wants to do the same in your life!

You are not the Creator, but God is. Stop trying to do it your way. Man has literally destroyed the earth in interest of "progress." His way has depleted the ozone layer. Created large amounts of waste land. Contaminated one third of the world's fresh water resources, and is destroying the rain forest which is our precious source of oxygen for our planet. As sad as this is, it does not compare with the spiritual damage that man has done to his being. Our world is in a sad spiritual state and it is because man has chosen to approach God his way. "I'll live by my theory of how to serve God and of what is required of me." But no matter what theory you believe, God is the sole Creator. God is able to take your life and make it well-rounded source of beauty. You can't deny God created the Heaven and the Earth by His spoken word, because then you deny His ability to create something through His spoken word in your life. He can take chaos, and shine His light upon it! He can take the refuse of darkness and wash it away. He can take the barrenness and cause new life to spring forth. He can take an attitude of submission and obedience and bless it abundantly and beyond measure. But a spirit of rebellion, He will not reward. He can take you and recreate you in His image through the teaching of the Word of God, and you can enter into a spiritual place of rest and contentment that you did not know even existed, but you must submit yourselves according to God's Master plan!
