Preface

This group of lessons is the sequel to Dispensation Bible Study Part I and starts exactly where the former left off, at the ascension of Jesus Christ. In Part I, we sped through the Old Testament history and took our time through the Life of Jesus Christ. In Part II, we reverse the trend and take our time through the Book of Acts before speeding through Modern Church History. After completing all of the lessons in the series, the student (and teacher!) should have a fairly general knowledge of all areas of the Bible and a very good understanding of the Life of Jesus Christ and the growth and doctrines of the Early Apostolic Church. After Lesson #36, they should also have a general idea of how the religious world has reached the present state and the importance of following the scriptural examples of the Early Church rather than "modern" church tradition.

Most Bibles have maps of Paul's missionary journeys in them and they will prove invaluable in understanding and studying the area in which he traveled. I found a blank map of the Mediterranean area and give copies of it to my students so that they can draw the routes of the journeys themselves as we go along. Combining the maps with the lessons gives the student a very thorough understanding of the latter part of the book of Acts.

Of course, the important point of all of these lessons is to reveal Apostolic truths to others! With this in mind, careful emphasis has been placed upon the Day of Pentecost and receiving the Holy Ghost, the revival in Samaria, the outpouring upon the Gentiles, and the rebaptism of John the Baptist's disciples in Ephesus. Bluntly put, if a person studies the Book of Acts without experiencing the experience of Acts, then they have missed the point! The lessons have been designed to reveal the power of the Holy Ghost and encourage the student to not settle for anything short of Apostolic power and experiences in their own life.

I must say that I have had a great time in writing and teaching these studies. The next series will take us from present times into future events and the Millennial Reign. Through teaching these Bible studies, I have been overjoyed to see many people realize the truth of Jesus name baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost! That in itself is compensation and reward enough for the effort of writing them. I have learned and been changed so much through studying the Bible verse by verse that even if these lessons had never been taught, it would have been worth it! The more I teach them, the more they become imbedded within me, and every time I teach a lesson something new stands out! We will never mine all of the resources of God's Word but it is awesome trying! I guess what I am trying to say in the preface is that I hope you enjoy reading and studying the lessons as much as I did putting them together!
