(Scene opens on Mary Magdalene, the disciples except for Peter, and several other men and women including: the healed blind man, The woman with an issue of blood, Leper 1, and Mary the mother of Jesus.)

Blind Man: Today, soldiers came to my house and wanted to know where Jesus was!!!! They threatened my family when I told them I didn’t know!

Andrew: Yes, it is getting bad--I hope Peter gets here alright!!!

James: Mary Magdalene claims that she saw Him outside of the tomb and that...

(Mary M interrupts)

Mary M: Oh I did see Him!!! He is alive! He is!

John: But He didn’t stay with you?

Mary M: No, He told me to come here and tell all of you!!!

(Peter enters the scene)

Peter: The Saducees are getting worse!!! I had to take back streets to get here!!

Andrew: Are the doors locked?

Peter: Yeah I made sure to lock them!

Blind Man: What are we going to do now?

Peter: Well, I think that...

(Peter stops as He sees Jesus who suddenly is very close)

Peter: Jesus?

(Everyone turns in astonishment)

Jesus: Did Mary not tell you that I was alive like I had spoken?

(No one says anything all are still shocked!)

Jesus: I promised you that I would never leave you nor forsake you. I will soon have to return to my Father, but I will send the Comforter to you.

(all are listening)

Jesus: After I go away, all of you tarry in Jerusalem until I send the power from on high. And then take the power, and go and preach my name to every creature!!

Andrew: Lord, the Romans are...

Jesus: My reason for coming is not the Romans, but to establish my church. Peter?

Peter: Yes, Master.

Jesus: As I said, I will give you the keys to my kingdom. Do you love me more than these?

Peter: Yes Lord, you know that I am your friend!

Jesus: Then take care of my sheep!

(Peter just nods and stares at Jesus)

Jesus: Peter?

Peter: Yes Lord?

Jesus: Are you really my friend?

Peter: Lord! You know my heart! You know that I am your friend!!!

Jesus: Then Feed my sheep!! Peter when you were young, you followed your own will and direction, but now when you are old, you will serve others and allow me to take you where you don’t want to go. When that time comes, follow me!

(The lights go out and everyone disappears in the darkness to the upper room scene)
