Scene 11

(Immediately after narration, the spotlight catches the group of upper room disciples worshipping God, and praising God and staggering. The Three critics, and several other people including several obvious foreigners are in the crowd.)

Foreigner 1 (Loudly): What is going on?

Person 1: I don’t know I’ve never seen anything like it!

Foreigner 2: What’s this? They are speaking my native language!

Foreigner 1: And mine too, how did they learn my tounge in Jerusalem!

Person 3: What are they saying?

Foreigner 2: They are proclaiming the mighty miracles of God!

Person 2 (sarcastically): These men are just drunk that’s all!

Person 1: Yeah they’re drunk and so early in the morning too!!!

(Peter steps out from the midst and addresses the crowd and audience)

Peter: Listen, all of you, visitors and residents alike!! These men aren’t drunk! It’s way too early! Nobody gets drunk this early in the morning. No! what you are seeing was predicted centuries ago by the prophet Joel-- when he prophesied “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: and I will shew wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved!

Men of Israel, listen to me! God showed he approved of Jesus by doing tremendous miracles though him as ye well know! But God, following His prearranged plan, let you use the Roman government to nail him to the cross and murder him. Then God brought him back from the horrors of death, for death could not keep this man in its grip!

I now firmly declare to everyone here in Israel that God has made this Jesus YOU crucified to be the Lord of Lords, THE MESSIAH!!!!!

(The foreignors and critics are clearly touched by Peter’s sermon)

Person 1: I have helped crucify the Messiah!!!!

Person 2: Brothers, what must we do???

Peter: You must repent and turn from sin, and return to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins! Then all of you will receive this wonderful promise of the Holy Ghost and will begin to speak in tounges as the Spirit gives the utterance.

This promise isn’t just for you, (Peter turns to the real audience) But the promise is for all your children, and their children, and even those afar off. The promise is for anyone that the Lord Jesus calls! (Music begins) You can have the promise! And you can have the promise! And you And you! And for your children and for you!!!

(Spotlights go to choir as “Power” begins)
