(Jesus and His disciples enter from side stage and later a full crowd slowly enters the other side. Crowd includes all those healed so far, and Pharisee and Saducee. Jesus at first is talking and teaching His disiciples)

Jesus: Be careful of the false teachings of the Pharisees and Saducees. They are not as righteous as they appear.

Andrew: They are jealous because they hear the people talking.

Jesus: Who are the people saying I am?

John: Well some say that you are John the Baptist

Andrew: and some say Elijah or Jeremiah

James: I’ve heard people call You one of the other prophets too.

Jesus: Who do you think I am?

Peter: You are the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God, OUR SAVIOUR!

(Jesus pauses and all stop and wait)

Jesus: God has blessed you Peter, for no human has told you this, but my Father in Heaven has revealed this to you!

(Jesus touches Peter)

Jesus: You are a stone Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, Peter and will use you as the foundation of my church!

(Jesus turns to the other disiciples)

Jesus: You all now understand that I am the Messiah, but don’t tell everyone yet, for there are those that do not understand!

(Crowd begins to come in and breaks the moment up. A gentile woman makes her way to the front with a daughter)

Gentile Woman: Jesus, my daughter is vexed with a demon, please heal her master!

(Jesus at first ignores the woman)

Gentile woman: Oh please Jesus hear my plea, please!!!!

Peter: Jesus send this beggar gentile away, she getting on our nerves!

Jesus (to woman): I was sent to help the Jews--the lost sheep of Israel-- not the Gentiles.

Peter: It is not right to take bread from the children and throw it to the dogs.

Gentile woman (to Peter): Yes it is!!! (to Jesus): even the puppies beneath the table are permitted to eat the crumbs that fall!

(Jesus turns in amazement to the disiciples)

Jesus: There is no one in Israel with greater faith than this!

(Jesus turns to the daughter)

Jesus: Be healed!

(daughter jumps into her mothers arms who begins weeping with joy. They step aside as lame boy is brought in front of Jesus. Jesus bends over the boy and speaks)

Jesus: Cheer up for I have forgiven your sins!

Saducee: That is blashphemy! He is acting like God!

Pharisee: Everybody knows that no man can forgive sins except the Messiah, this man is claiming to be our Saviour???

Saducee (towards Peter): He is of Satan!!!!

Jesus: Why do you think such evil thoughts? Do you need a sign to prove to you that I am indeed the Messiah? Which is easier to forgive this boy’s sins or to heal his body? (Jesus Pauses) I am the Messiah and I do have authority to forgive sins, but that’s easy to say. I’ll prove it by healing him.

(Jesus turns to the boy and takes him by the hand)

Jesus: take up your stretcher and walk for you are healed!!!!!

(The boy gets up grabs His stretcher and becomes excited as he takes his first step. The rest of the crowd becomes excited and begins to bombard Jesus with questions as the Pharisee and Saducee slink to the back of the crowd. )

Crowd: Jesus will you heal me I’m sick? Jesus, are you truely the Messiah? Please heal my body, Jesus. Jesus my uncle cannot see. Who is your Father in Heaven Jesus? Jesus heal me! Jesus, You are our Saviour! Please forgive my sins!

(As the crowd is causing confusion, and Jesus and the disicples are preoccupied with their needs, the woman with the issue of blood is slowly pushing her way to the crowd unnoticed. When she touches the edge of His robe, Jesus yells)

Jesus: WAIT! Be quiet for a minute!

(Then when he has everyone’s attention)

Jesus: Who touched me?

(For a brief moment there is silence and then Peter speaks up)

Peter: Lord, what do you mean who touched You? Anyone could have touched you.

Jesus: No, I felt healing virtue flow out of my body.

(The woman with the issue of blood falls down in front of Jesus as others in horror move away)

Woman with the issue: Sir, I touched you for I needed to be healed

Jesus: Get up, for you are already healed, your faith is rewarded today!

(Lights fade and music begins. Woman with the issue of blood goes to center stage to sing solo. Spot on choir and her. Remaining characters exit into the darkness)
