Scene 4

(Scene opens up with only Jesus and His disiciples, and Jesus speaking)

Jesus: The Pharisees and the Saducees are growing bolder and bolder.

Andrew: How so Lord?

Jesus: When we get back to Jerusalem, the Son of Man’s time will be short. I will suffer at the hands of the Jewish leaders, and they will sentence me to die and I will be killed.

(Peter interrupts Jesus very alarmed)

Peter: Heaven forbid Lord, This can’t happen to you!!!

(Jesus quickly turns and rebukes Peter)

Jesus: Get away from me, you Satan!!! You are a trap to me! You are thinking merely from a human’s view point and not from God’s.

Jesus (to all disiciples): If any one wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up a cross and follow me. For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it, and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again.

(Jesus Pauses and then turns to Peter)

Jesus: Fear not. Yes, they will tear this temple down but in three days I will rise again.

(Moment is broken by lepers who enter from side crying out to Jesus)

Lepers: Have mercy on us! Oh Jesus please heal us! Jesus heal our leprosy! Jesus make us clean!

Leper 1: Jesus, sir, have mercy on us!

Jesus: Go and show yourself to the priests and show him that you are healed!

(all lepers become excited and all but Leper 1 run off to find the high priest. Leper 1 turns to go, but then turns to Jesus and falls down in front of Him, worshipping Him.)

Leper 1: Glory to God, I’m healed. Thank you, Jesus, Thank you Jesus!

Jesus: Did I not heal more than one? Where are the others?

(Jesus extends a hand down to Leper 1)

Stand up and Go, your faith healed you, but your praise has made you whole!

(Leper stands and leaves rejoicing, lights fade)
