(Scene opens with several people standing around a fire talking and Peter listening to them)

Person 1: Did you hear what this Jesus of Nazareth is guilty of?

Person 2: Yeah, they say He blasphemed God and the High Priest!!!

Person 1: I always did think He was just a little different, you know anybody that claimed to do the miracles that He did.

Person 2: My uncle claims that He knew a boy that couldn’t walk until Jesus healed Him. I wonder if that was true!

Person 3: I think He was full of the devil, I’m glad they caught Him.

Person 1: Did you ever hear Him teach?

Person 3: Yeah, I heard him once say that He was going to destroy the temple

(other people look alarmed)

Person 2: my God!!!

Person 1: What happened to those guys he had hanging around Him all the time?

Person 3: He called them His disiciples.

Person 2: I don’t know what happened to them but that man right there reminds me of one of them.

Person 3 (to Peter): Hey weren’t you one of the followers of this criminal?

Peter (quietly): No

Person 2: Yes, you were one of the disciples weren’t you.

Peter (a little louder): No I wasn’t one of Jesus’s disciples.

Person 1: Who are you then and What are you doing here?

(As Jesus is led back toward the group, Peter gets louder)

Peter: I tell you I never knew any man named Jesus of Nazareth. I never even saw the fool!!

( At this moment Peter sees Jesus and they make eye contact. Peter stares at Jesus and Jesus looks at Peter as He walks by. Peter begins to weep, and runs out screaming)

Peter: what have I done, what have I done, Oh my God forgive me, Oh my God!!!!!!
